Drawing Class: Charcoal Assignment

This was an assignment for drawing class. We had free range over whatever subject matter that we wanted, but we had to choose an image we could enlarge with the grid method, and something with enough tone to it to work in charcoal. I chose this image as my reference: [link]
I'm not a huge fan of working with charcoal myself, but it is kinda relaxing in a way. I made a huge mess of myself though! The tips of my fingers are still black!
Finished size: 16"x 20" (or something close to it)
Time spent: ~4 hours
